I just put in a new starter selenoid in my truck 3 days ago and I think it got stuck cause my battery got drained and when I try to jumpstart it as soon as I hook up da cables I can hear my starter wantint to turn with out even a key on the ignition is it just my selenoid or is there something more to this
might be the starter switch my friends f150 did this when i was with him started truck and starter wouldnt shut off after the truck was running had to unhook battery to turn it off starteed looking into it and replaced solenoid no difference replaced starter switch and it stopped the problem diagnos and test the parts to find the source of the problem try hot wiring the starter if it shuts off after you disconnect power to it i would guess it's the ignition switch
First of all, I can barely understand what you're saying. If you expect to get decent help, you need to write your question such that people can figure out what you're actually asking. Basic sentence structure is a general courtesy that's expected here. I had to re-read what you wrote at least 3 times to get it. And quite frankly, phonetics are painful to read ("da jumper cables"). We're not texting here.
With that said, are you saying that just hooking up the jumper cables makes the truck turn over? If so, remove the wire from the 'S' post of the solenoid and try it again. If it still cranks when it shouldn't, then the solenoid is stuck shut. If it stops cranking, then the wiring from the ignition switch, or the ignition switch itself is faulty.
I just replaced both the switch and the selenoid about 3 days ago n it sounds like its my selenoid the one that went bad......one more question if I have my high output alternator running the same way that the stock cable was would that kind of voltage burn my selenoid quicker..or it shouldnt matter.
