That's pretty cool. I have the same rear axle as you. Its a Rockwell B140. I also had the 583 in it, but I changed it to a 514. I was able to pick it up through a friend. I just wonder if anyone has a parts book that would help find any other matching ring and pinions that might be put in that pig.
Hi 1960 ford f350, I'm new to the site. I have a '61 f350 stake rack with rockwell b140 5.83's. I would love to run higher gears to make truck more driveable on highway. how did those 5.14s work for you? any source for gears would be appreciated. The truck doesn't do heavy work any more, so the higher the better! (it came out too nice) You also posted about an interchange book. Did that ever pan out? Thanks! Bill

Welcome Lumbar to FTE, the best Ford Truck sight on the World Wide Web. Just to let you know this is an old thread. And you will get better responses if you introduce yourself to the 61-66 forum and then ask you question. Since this thread was started the forums have split and this one is now just for 48-56 trucks.
Good luck.
Oh but before you go,you have to show us pictures of your F350!
