2006, 6.0 F-250 Fx4, crew cab w/ 130k miles...SUPER CLEAN, oasis and carfax both check out on it. Has after market xd 20s, and is completely stock. Truck looks virtually unused both inside and out!
I think the price is a little high myself, but it all depends on what the market in your arear will bear. I know that the diesels are hold value quite abit more now that they were, and I havent been looking at trucks in a long time so I may be way out of touch anyway.
Look it up on KBB.com and see what it says. I wouldnt take int account any aftermarket accessories cause if you were to sell the truck with that stuff they wont give you any more for it.
According to Kelly Blue Book, $23,745 in good condition. Might not be a bad deal as long as you are willing to do all the extra maintenance that comes with it, as in no skimping on oils or filters and doing some preventative maintenance.
Also take into account that prices are fixing to tank when diesel goes to $6/gal over the summer and that dealers are trying their best to get rid of that stuff at a high price now. KBB is always on the high end of the price scale. Check at nadaguides.com for alternative pricing.
I would make sure they didnt do any serious work with it if I were going to pay 20k for it. look for snow plow holes in the front, gooseneck, ect. Usually a dually with 130 on it has been through some rough days. If it was babyed and it was a trophy truck then i would def pay 20 for it.
With the price for fuel this summer mine will be lucky to get 2 tanks run through it. NADA says, wait for it ....................................trade in $23,900.
I wouldn't buy one that has done both, u would be lucky if I gave u 10 grand for it. But that's just me.
While I can understand why you would think that way right off the bat, to me it would actually depend. More likely then not I wouldn't, but you just never know, I would stack my truck against most others out there and it has certainly had both experiences.
But then again, it is better to error on the side of caution.
another catch.... Ill be having to get rid of my 03 sonic blue lighting (89k miles) to get it. I figure if i want to go fast ill just jump in my blown 03 gt. What do you guys think? Is the stroke a better truck than the lightning?

That's kind of like comparing apples to oranges. It will definitely out pull and possibly out ride the lightning. You'll be able to go a lot more places in a lot more comfort. It can be made to go fast. There are lots of 6.0's that would stomp a hole in your 03 GT in the 1/4 mile that are daily drivers and work trucks (at least by your siggy times).

If reliability is important to you then a better question would be is the stroke a more reliable truck than the lightning?
