Block Heater Resistance

Anyone know what the resistance on the block heater should be? Had a big problem last night. We'll just say the new water pump and over flow bottle are now installed. Thanks to help of gchavez and Milleroutdoors...and Clay, who doesn't know what he did yet.Temps were -15*F last night. I'm still trying to thaw out the truck. Fortunately my fuel has not gelled, been putting in the DK white bottle into the fuel. The Unfortunate side is my radiator is still frozen. Working on that part right now. What a nightmare. This all started because of a cracked overflow bottle.

Move to Payson. Much warmer. Only 9° the last 2 mornings.

Mine read a bit higher.

Looks like I'm going shopping again. I'm getting outta here as soon as the truck will run again.

Chase...no damage.

This is what happens when the block heater is not working and temps are about -10*F. So far no damage. Todays temps above 40* helped alot.

Usually.... Water pump went out and emptied all over the ground Wed. night. That is just what was left. Lucky it was mushy, hadn't froze solid.

New element installed. Its alive again. No damage to the block or radiator. Talk about being lucky.

Found the new one at Carquest. Used the 750w since they did not have a 1000w. The element old and new is 4" long. The depth of the hole is 4.5". I knew the old one was bad, did resitance check on it and plugged it in in my hand. Shocked the crap outta me. Yup, I'm a sparky...just a little bit more than a tickle. 3hrs. later, the truck started up. Oh what a relief.
