Yes, but I'll take that extra bit of change and pass it to the fuel tank.

Do you guys have any idea what kind of energy usage that element eats up? I never used mine, just wondering if you see a big difference on the power bill?

The normal block heater uses 1000w so for an hours of use, you'll use 1kW/hr of electricity. For me, that's around 20-25 cents an hour IIRC. Your best bet is to either wire up a heavy duty timer, or get an outdoor plug in one and set the timer to come on 3-4 hours before you want to leave. My dad and I both have ours set like that to keep the electric bill down. When my brother started plugging his in every night over night (9pm-6am) the electric bill went up noticeably.

My will draw 884 watts. Not sure if it is nearing replacement time or the 750 watt unit pulling a little more.

My power rate is less than $.10 per KWh. I have a heavy duty timer that I use if the temp is going to be less than 30*. Above 30*, I don't plug it in.

Soooo, I have a 2018 Ford F-150 with the new 3.0 Powerstroke diesel. The engine block heater is tripping my house circuit breaker. I measured the resistance at the plug and got 540 ohms!!! I clearly have a problem, right?

Mine pulls about the same watts, I wanna say it was 860w. It appears to be factory. It could be that the 1,000w rating is just that far off or age/resistance has changed it from when it was new.

You are in the '99-'03 7.3 section of this board, though someone on here might be knowledgeable in that era you would be best served to look in the forum for your model year. And it is better to start your own thread titled after your specific problem.
