Does anyone recommend or have experience with a B&M transpack? I was thinking about purchasing one, I just wanted to hear some input before i did. Thanks
Not sure if this will apply.....but I bought a B&M kit(the mild one) for my '87 Mustang AOD....the tranny shop advised against it. He said they shift too hard for a stock tranny and will cause problems within a yr.(he had some previous experiences)
There was a milder yet shift kit available that he found to be OK in stock AOD's.....MAYBE a Trans-go??? I can't recall exactly.
I HIGHLY recommend a TransGo kit. The PSK-AOD. It is a great kit and rids the trans of inherent problems. Also, it is adjustable for different shift firmness by the spring installing. It will also raise you WOT to 4900 or 5200 with the governer install.
It tells you not to put both in for softer shifts and more for firmer shifts.
Also, get an aluminum 2-3 accumulator, a "A" OD servo and spring. Those will help in holding for towing and such.
Reply and I'll post up the Ford part numbers for those parts.
