I read on another site once; "Maglites and SureFires are both great flashlights, but I'd rather have a Maglite. Sure a Maglite isn't as whiz-bang tactical as a SureFire, but one knock to the head and it's coloring books for Christmas!" I agree with this statement. I own both and I love my rechargeable Mag the best.
Once you try a Surefire or another flashlight of that caliber you won't go back to a Mag. Don't get me wrong, I like my Maglites but they are not that bright and the beam pattern leaves a lot to be desired after using a Surefire.
Chris, if you get a chance, pick up a mag lite LED- you might be suprised what an improvement it is over the old Mag incondecents......MUCH brghter and the run time is unbelieaveable.
I keep my red 5-cell under the drivers seat, just to the left of the hump. It sits there nice and snug and doesn't move around at all, even under hard braking.
I've got my 6 cell mounted on the roof cross member above the drivers seat. Before everybody goes off about it falling and knocking me out, its been there for 5+ years now and hasn't moved at all. The clips hold it up nice and tight. Its held up over many bumpy roads, some hard knocks going through ditches and lots of bouncing from rear wheel hop.
As for the clips, Lowes and Home depot used to carry them. Cabela's probably carries them too. I got a kit that included the clips, some colored lenses, and a nice rubber piece for the head of the light that keeps it from rolling around. They even have clips for the AA mags. That one's mounted on the skinny piece of dash to the left of the radio between the radio and the vent.

I have several SureFires. They are amazing tactical lights. In a tactical situation I will use one of my SureFires everytime, but for my normal activities I use my rechargeable Mag which is much brighter than a standard non-rechargeable Mag. I just slap it in the charger and it's always good. Way cheaper than going through expensive camera batteries with my SureFires.
I went to Home Depot, and was told by the employee that helped me, that they didn't carry them. I bought mine on Ebay. Here is a link to one seller who has them. If you search Ebay, you might find them cheaper, but I don't know. Good luck.
Amazon.com has them, and I've seen them at a lot of different stores. I'd just check your local stores that carry Maglites.
I also have a few Surefires, but they're for other things. I think the Maglites are a more durable flashlight for truck use. Plus, you can buy a few Maglites for the cost of a Surefire.
Now, if it would just stop raining I could install my brackets...
