ok. this may be a really dumb question, but i have to know. can an intake or exhaust manifold from a 460 bolt onto a 6.9 with no mods? more specifically on the exhaust side, i have a mind to use some torque tube headers. the reason for my question is to get an idea of how many one-off parts i will need for this crazy idea i have bouncin around. also, whats the best upgrades i could do to the fuel system, and how hard is it to find mechanical fuel shut offs?
oh, and you might as well not ask what my crazy idea is. if i can do it, you will know in good time.
No, the 2 have different patterns and will not swap. There is a Co. that makes conventional style headers for the International IDI, don't recall the name right now.
BB injectors and rebuilt IP with a new return line kit is a good start for fuel system. As far as a mechanical fuel shut off on the IP, alot have thought about it but I haven't seen anyone do it yet.
i want the manual fuel shut-off to make the engine entirely mechanical. think of it as a fail-safe. should i loose all electrical power, my truck will still run. ive even got an idea for a mechanical engine brakin system. the goal is to make the truck entirely self-suffecient, needin only fuel, basic maintenance, and a driver. sure, i will have plenty of electrically operated components and doo-dads, but should i loose all power, the gauges and motor will still run, pendin catastrophic failure of course.
