NEW old Truck, Buzzer problem...

OK so I just bought a 2005 F250 with the 6 L Diesel, 111,000 miles

It is running well

The only thing that is driving me crazy (yeah, I know a short trip)

is the dang warning buzzer goes off like I left the lights on or the key in the switch when I open the door

Any ideas ?

I am thinking of yanking the buzzer out (or shooting it ) but I can't even find it under there ?

I am confident someone here has an answer ...

Its not the seat belt reminder is it? It uses the same tone maker. It will go off like every 30 seconds for the several miles if its the seat belt.

I don't think it is the seat belt...

I goes off when I get out of the truck opening the door, stops when the door is closed, comes back on when I open the door again

as if the key were in the ignition or the head lights left on

dunno

Put up with it...if you disconnect if something you WHAT to know goes bad, you won't get the message.

I disconnected it on my old Brand-name-deleted truck

because I didn't like it scaring all the deer at the stand ...

never missed it

eta

maybe I just put it on the list for the dealer -- it just started dripping disturbing amounts of red oily stuff all over the driveway

DAMN

In the owners manual there is a process to turn off the seatbelt reminder. I will look for the process and post. it is straight forward and besides leaving the keys in the ignition mine never goes off any more.

This turned off the buzzer when I was just getting out and in while the engine was running. it eliminated the buzzer. These are work trucks and i agree it was bothering me when I would get out just to get the mail. so i tried it and it has taken care of the issue for me. i would give it a try and see. it takes about 3-5 min. and a lot of buckling and unbuckling but as i said i think it was worth it.

I recently disabled the keyminder/door buzzer on my '04 by removing the bottom portion of the steering column and removing a grounding wire connected to the key cylinder.

The buzzer is an issue with the lock tumbler. I have the same problem with mine, did a google search and found the answer. Just haven't done the work to it yet. Don't have a link but do a search, I'm sure youll find something.
