Good Morning Steve & Bill. Another wonderful day in paradise. Maybe no wind today???
Joe,
We had Goldwater posters all over. I always remember the one my parents had on their front fence for the longest of time. "This House is SOLD on Goldwater", remember that one? I never saw the pin or button you refer to. But we had several Goldwater buttons. But living in Nevada that figures. I wish I knew what happened to all of those. I may still have some but not sure. I would have to dig into the depth of years in one of my out building in Nevada. I think a lot of that stuff got sold over the years. My parents owned a junk store, Or better known as a second hand store with everything from used brass fitting ,comic book to guns & knives, etc. They closed it in the last 70s
Come on! you could not vote till you were 21? news to me... i thought the age was 18.
A'yup, Bill. 21 was the minimum voting age in the US until the 26th Ammendment was ratified in 1971. President Nixon had signed a law to change it to 18 in 1970, but the Supreme Court declared it unconstitutional, so it took the 26th Ammendment to get us there.
Didn't they teach you kids nuthin' in school?

That is a neat button Joe.
Bill isn't old enough to remember the passing of the 26th amendment. By the time he got to school it was history, & new books had not been printed yet. There was to many other lies they wanted to teach in HISTORY CLASSES.

Evening all, funny, I have a Gold Water sticker in the window of my B Model Mack truck. That is what everyone always comments on when they see the truck! Maybe I will put one in the slick! I already put a vintage "Don Sanderson, Glendale" sticker in the back window I found at the GCC swap last weekend.
GOOD MORNING BILL & ARIZONA.Bill I thought you would of appreciated the compliment about being young. Ha Ha. I hope you know I was just trying to be funny.
...Ha Ha. I hope you know I was just trying to be funny.
We both were, Craig. I try more than I succeed.
With the timing of the 26th Ammendment, I still didn't get to vote until I was over 21, so I got to drink legally before I got to vote. Drinking was more rewarding....
good day all, just burnt and disked the garden, last year it was so muddy I couldn't get it prepped until about 3 weeks after planting time so everything was late
