I did a search on this and couldn't find to much help. I have an intermittent problem with my overdrive switch and my parking sensor/beeper/whateveryoucallthatannoyingpieceof@#% not working. Sometimes they work normally, and others they won't do anything. I don't have a user manual (I have a feeling that might help. ) but my guess is those are on the same circuit and there is a short in a wire or a relay failing somewhere.
I had trouble for a while with fuse 49?.......I can't remember off the top of my head. It was the one that usually blows when the wire for the overdrive is shorting out. (It randomly stopped doing that.....) Only I never found anything that was bad. My only conclusion is that the switch itself is bad. Do ya think that has anything to do with my current problem?
Don't know about the back up thing, but the common OD button issue tends to be pinched or chaffed wires inside the steering column. if you remove the column cover you'll see the wires that come out of the shift lever. The short is usually close to where the wires come out of the lever.
I already looked for the pinch or rub, but I couldn't find it. It could be up a ways into the handle, but I doubt it. I'll download the manual and take a look. Thanks!
This is what I found. I had to completely remove the shifter and wire harness to find this. When I looked for this while still on the column, I didn't see it.
