Wondering if anyone else has the problem of the front end bottoming out even by going over a small bump. On a 2007 F-350 6.0L with a Procomp 6" lift kit. changed out shocks 3 times already with procomp replacements. Usually good for about a month...
It seems to be the stops just in behind the coil springs. there are two 4" stops that would hit the seats on the axle. Ford dealer say that this should not happen but it has already crushed the vacuum hoses going to the hubs. I was thinking that they maybe put the wrong stroke of shocks on. Not sure how long of stroke they should be. Phoned Procomp but they wouldn't tell me anything because they said that they only deal with customers, like dealers and garages. Not individuals.
Did they put oversize bump stops in with the lift? Do you have the part numbers for the springs? Maybe they sold you the wrong springs. Do you have a plow or anything heavy up front?
Nothing on the front of truck except push guard. Will have to check the springs. I had a 02 F350 and a 05 F-350 with the same lift and no problems. But ofcourse the 02 had leafs in the front. The shocks also keep pounding out the bushings.
Pull one end of the shock off and do some measuring to see if the shock will bottom before the suspension will. I can't bottom mine even with a plow..Something's hitting...
