hi I have an 82 f150 4x4 I6 I was looking at different post about dura spark II as far as I can tell my truck should have this set up. Is that correct? It is stock right now but soon to rebuild engine and have head work done have a set of efi manifold getting offy dp intake and edlebrock 1403 carb with heated carb spacer. If I do have duraspark II setup is there anything I will/ should replace / buy for what I am planning on doing. I also am going to recurve dizzy.
The 82 300/4.9L used a DS2 ignition from the factory. Other than replacing any parts that are in questionable condition, it should be good to go.
Of course, there's always a chance that someone has modified it during the last ~30 years, and something else is now in place.....
ok how do I make sure I have the correct components? It seems to have a lot of vacuum lines will I need all of these once I change carbs? Thanks for the info
Once you go through the conversion you're doing, most of the stock components will no longer be used. At that point, the vacuum line routing becomes incredibly simple.
One line for the power brake booster, one line for the PVC, and one line for the distributor's vacuum advance.
no it did go bad about 4 months ago when to tractor pulls and when i went to leave nothing and i got an oem style to replace it i was just making sure wouldnt need to buy a certain brand
