Another Auto-Hub Question

Two years ago I gave up on my ESOF vacuum turning my 4x4 on and off. So I just turn the hubs from AUTO to LOCK and then turn the dash **** and away I go in 4x4.

The other day, my drivers side HUB "handle" (the part you put your fingers on and turn) fell off. So I was thinking of just replacing the Ford ones with another brand since I don't rely on the vacuum to make them work now anyway.

Can I put have a pair of WARN stuck in there in place of the Ford ones and be good to go?

Thanks,
RC

If it's the '99 then yes. Warn Premium are the best, in my opinion, and are not terribly expensive. They are easy to change, just remove the snap ring, pull out the old hub, push in the new one and replace the snap ring.

I put the WARN premium in my "01 and have been very happy. No more vacuum concerns and the engagement of the 4wd.

I don't like the Warn Premium hubs. I'd save the coin and buy the std warn lock-outs instead. They are way easier to turn on and off.

I've never heard anyone complain about the premium before. Mine turn very easy. Compared to the Fords that I had to use pliers, these are fantastic...

I prefer the premiums, but I'm sure many people are just as happy with the standards. I think the premiums are made with better materials, and I like the 7/8 turn over the 1/4 turn to lock/unlock. It seems to me that will provide for a more positive lock.

Also, as I understand it, the premiums come with a lifetime warranty.

So with the WARN setups.....are the two options LOCK and AUTO or something else. I am guessing that there is no AUTO as these repllacements would do away with that need.

I am guessing that there is just a lock/unlock?

Std ones turn far easier and they are a 1/4 turn instead of 7/8 turn.

Where/Who should I get the WARN hubs from?

I have decided to remove the Ford ones for sure and have already got my vaccum lines plugged off and that is not an issue.

I just need to know where to find the correct location to get me the correct the hubs for what I need.
