I've been rollin a napa (stock) cap for 2 summers now, MSD ignition coil and 8.5 mm superconductor wires and all is still fine. I eventually plan to go with a Mallory dist when the time is right.
I was sorta sketchy on it. I put an Accel coil pack in my 92 SHO a few years ago, and had nothing but problems with it. But, I figured for $20, what the hell. I'm glad I did, but I never got around to doing the sixlitre tune up. Maybe I'll do it on the Centurion, once I get some other stuff done.
I bought all new ignition parts (except a complete distributor, also the cap and rotor were 1yo), all Motorcraft except for the coil, which is Standard Motors (i never heard from that brand, but it's from the US and the price was right), did the 6litre this friday before a road trip... man i'm happy i did, the difference is noticeable, i'm getting a lot more low end, the engine revs faster to the sweet spot, and i was to a montainous area and it felt strong and alright.
Even though it is fine, I would just get the Motorcraft one. A good source for Motorcraft parts at decent prices is Summit. If not that the Borg Warner.

Standard has been around for a long time here in the US. I've used a lot of their parts with no problems. Ignition, sensors, etc.
Good to know that you noticed a difference! I'm not so hesitant on doing all of this to mine now.
