Meteorologists are starting to gain a clearer picture of the major storm set to hit eastern Canada Wednesday.
There was some initial uncertainty about the track for the “Groundhog Day Storm,” but it now looks likely that every major city from Windsor to Kingston will see at least 15 cm of snow Wednesday, says Rob Davis, a meteorologist at The Weather Network.
“It's almost a guarantee it'll be more than 15 cm - it's just a question of how much more,” he says.
Some areas could see up to 30 cm.
Not a lot of accumulation here, just lots of drifting on north-south roads. Almost got stuck a couple times on Highway 19, but that's because it was closed and not plowed. And it's not really closed if they only put a sign at each end and you can get on at any cross road.
23 north between Newry and Listowel was in the same shape as 19. We got more blowing than actual snow as well. It took an extra 1/2 hour of snow blowing to clear out my driveways other than that nothing out of the ordinary. Oh, the wind was very raw to. John
It was nothing what they were calling for, they screwed up again, lol. But the best storm in a couple years. It was a good day to try my plow out for the first time.
The 6+" I woke up to here Sunday morning was what I expected to wake up to on Wednesday. My wife stayed overnight in Mississauga because of how crappy the roads were Saturday night.
Around here not so much on the ground, but the wind played kaos.
Buried the little Escort in front of the house which is not so bad because the laneway is the half mile of hell, so to make it that far I did good.
anybody that wants to try their skills at driving needs to meet me at the farm.
