Power steering hose problem

I replaced my power steering pump on my 390 awhile back. One of the hoses bolted on, but does the other hose just need to be forced on the flared pump fitting? The fitting has a 90 degree bend in it, and before I removed the pump the rubber hose was pushed all the way up around the 90 and had a clamp on it. I can force the hose just about to the 90 but theres no way I can get it on any more. As a result, theres a very small leak coming out of the end of the hose even with it all clamped up. Any other way to get the hose up around the 90? Or clamp it on better?

The return hose just uses a normal hose clamp. Just need to go past the flared end about 1" or so, no need to push it past the elbow.

The pressure hose is flared.

Yeah I agree; it just needs to go on past the flare and not around the 90. What kind of shape is the hose in? It's a low pressure hose, you should put new hose on it, it's only a couple of bucks. If the old hose is dried out you probably won't be able to get it to stop leaking.

Alright thanks thats good to know. The hose isn't bad but it could be better. Its on there like you said and its clamped pretty good so ill take another look at it and probably end up replacing it. First thought was it had to be around the elbow but thanks for the help!

If you're not careful you can start to crush the metal tube and it will leak. Take the rubber line off and see if it has started to deform.
