cost for an exhaust on one of these trucks

I got a 1975 F100 4x4 with a 390/t-18 combo. there's a good chance i'll be redoing the exhaust this year sometime in the spring, by adding headers and going from there. Any of you have some prices you could give me on how much the average cost is to have a true dual exhaust made for this? I think it'll have to run below the t-case cross member, then back up between the frame and then exit in front of the rear tires.

If anyone has pictures that'd be great to add here to. thanks

Review this thread (with pics): https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/9...ml#post9074634

As far as running the tubing under the tranny crossmember - I don't recommend it. It'll reduce ground clearance, be more apt to damage, and, in my opinion, looks really lame.

EDIT>>: The total cost will depend on header brand, muffler selection, and if you do it yourself versus paying someone else to bend/fab the tubing.

i do like the way you did it, i've seen that thread before. reason why i ask for cost though is because this is just a mud truck/ weekend cruiser around town to wake up rich *******s. So i don't, nor can i spend a ton of money here. I mean yes i have to spend somethin to get headers, mufflers, and a half way decent system, but if the easiest route and cheapest route (i believe this would be the one) is to go under the cross member then ill be fine with that. The place i take it to for some 4x4 action, i don't need really anymore clearance than i have....

There's no significant extra cost if you're fabbing it up yourself... just extra time. I bought the Jeg's kit cuz the extra tubing and bends wil go towards another project. I could have probably knocked the tubing cost by half if I ordered the tubing piece by piece.

I like to wake up the yuppy, Hog-ridin' poseurs down the block who find it necessary to goose their throttles up my street. They started it and paybacks are a bee-yatch.

yea i hear ya, my trucks loud enough as it is i just really want the headers for the power gains i hear i can get over the crappy log manifolds.

I looked up that kit on jegs and saw $522 and closed the page lol. If i can get by with around $300 or a little more for everything bought and done i'll be more than happy!

I can get a dual exhaust with glasspacks, and turn downs in my area for $375. If I wanna go over the axle add $150 with chrome tips.

+ $50 for Thrush turbo's
+ $125 for Flowmaster's, Mangaflows, and most other big name brands.

Get yourself some headers and bolt some PURPLE HORNYS or glass packs to the collector flanges and be done with it.
Then do a burn out in front of those yuppie *******s houses down the street, this will only be believed with video not words.
Now if you are going to a muffler shop.......bend over.

I've got a set of headers now:

and i wouldn't use the purples for two reasons, one being they wouldn't fit, and two i don't want the cheap glasspack sound.

I can have duals installed with glasspacks for 175-200. Thats Galvanized. If you can find somewhere that still uses un galvanized your looking cheaper but aint gonna last as long.

If you just want turndowns you can go to advance auto and buy some exhaust tubing and clamp it or weld it together, I did a single exit in front of the rear wheel and it cost me about $85 total with the muffler.

that i might be able to do. the main part that i probably will need a shop to do is routing the pipes off the headers down below the cross member then back up between the frame. after that i guess i could say ill do the rest
