I have one and was thinking I may put it in my 55 or sell it.
I have a TCI Mustang II suspension, 302 and C4, so it not like the truck needs to be totally stock, so I might sell it and need to also know what it is worth if I do.
If I do keep it, will it be that big a deal not having the tilt functionality?
I put a new button under dash. I welded up the center of the steering shaft at the bottom so I had to go with plan B. I still have the steering column horn button in it's location....just doesn't work.
I've been tossing the idea on if i should get a tilting column or not. I was going to look into trying to adapt my old one into the IFS i am running, just hadn't gotten into it yet. Interesting that you did with yours Rick. $600 is a lot of money for a custom built one, and junkyard GM columns look terrible IMO. They are alright from the neck up, but you have to hide everything down below or it just looks tacky with a clean interior. Any one know of a Ford column (junkyard) that looks descent when installed?
GM full size van from the 70's/early 80's tilt with the key on the dash works. I like the key on the dash and the tube is skinny for the column and it's clean except the ugly wire harness that pops out close to the floor.......like the rest.
