I'm pretty tickled with this find ! It took a while to find a Bronco & plow to fit my budget in this climate that wasn't half rusted away or totally worn out. It's an EFI 302, Auto, Lockout 4X4, with a 7-1/2' Leo Plow, 50% tread. It run's, drives, and plows
good. It needs basic tune up, exhaust fix ( manifold?), and rear leaf spring mount, and minor rear window fix. I'm still curious to know if I paid too much.
Anyone wanna take a shot at what it should be worth ?
Just sold an 89' last fall. Got $3,200 for it but it was inspected, had nice wheels and tires and dual exhaust. Body wasn't too bad. A couple of spots of surface rust on the tailgate. Could'a used a paint job.
Thanks for the info, I got the Bronco and the plow for 500 less than that. I guess I did alright. We've had a lot of snow here this year, the Broncos are great for plowing. Looks like you live in snow country too.
Good football country too, Congratulations ! I doubt you guys were expecting to be playing Green Bay next weekend.
Good deal on the Bronco! If it's well maintained and you can keep the rust gremlins away it'll last a long time.
Green Bay and Pittsburg is a meeting of two classic teams. As long as Big Ben and Troy Polamalu are there I expect we'll be swingin' the Terrible Towels in victory. Good luck. It'll be a great game.
Thanks, the typical rust has put holes at the corners of the rocker panels and a few blisters at the rear wheel wells......... I'm new at the body work game but hoping I can stop it or slow it down enough to make it last a few more years.
You couldn't ask for a Super Bowl with more heart and soul. It could be a great game if both teams show up. If they do, Green Bay may still need a little help from Vince's ghost.
I had to give up my green and gold 'kerchief for my Bears fan buddy to cry in.... (another classic match up), I'll start making plans to send you one, too.
It's almost enough though, just to see them paint the big "PACKERS" lettering on Jerry Jones' turf.
Hey, jcee.....that '89 you had, what motor, tranny, & rear end did it have ?
I'm curious what to expect if it ever warms up around here and I get a chance to tune this thing up.
Motor, tranny, transfer case the same as yours. Not sure about the rear. I think stock was an 8.8 with an open diff. I never fooled with it except to pull the cover to check the gears and don't think it was ever changed. The 302 was a good motor, easily buildable, but for reliability and just good old grunt I liked the 4.9 inline 6 we had in an old 87. You could lug that thing down to almost stalling and it still held on.
