Like you? lol just kidding But really these mod motors have retarded timing from the factory, advance the timing 4 degrees and your engin will run even smoother....and you dont need higher octain with 4,infact the truck is set to run on a min of 85 octain so u will be now getting full potential from 87
ya need a tuner, plug in to obd ll and adjust away..its easy to use and gives u many options...reall fool proof, the truck computer compesates if u over adjust....but as i said add 4 degrees for 87,and if ya want 6 degrees for 91 octain and 8 degrees for 93.....u can also muck with injector curve, shift points, trans pressure,MAF curve, as well as other things but thats another story
Im sure mike knows his stuff, however he wont teach you..he charges and does it,i can teach ya'll and ya can do it yer self....we dont need no stinking dynos!
With the dealer tuning software, Mike has access to a lot more variables than what the tuners offer stock. Custom tuning will get you a lot better transmission behavior as well.
I;m sure 5-star is very good. I just recently helped a buddy download a diablo tune in a 2005 5.4 3v. Made a huge difference and it was a 87 octane tune..
