engine troubles
ok guys i went to start my truck this mourning and it was like 15 out. So i started it its running at like 450 to 500 RPM and sounds like a straight 6 when its a 351, im like WTF happend. I open the hood and i could smell gas, so i shut it off to prevent anything else from happening. I pulled the dipstick and it kindof looked like fudge swirl ice cream kindof and it smelt like gas. So i looked around at the stuff to see if there was anything broken or what not, ( i did manage to hit a snow pile with it yesterday) but when i left it was all fine. I thought the oil cooler let go but its still looks fine on the outside. Do you think its internal, just passed 147000, it has been perfect until just now.

sounds like its running super rich... putting way too much gas in the cylinders and its ending up in the base... but thats just a guess... how is ur oil pressure under normal circumstances did u notice what the gauge was reading?

Do you let it warm up properly in cold weather? if not, it will get condensation in the crankcase and cause the swirl ice cream on the dipstick...
as for the low idle, It could be the IAC, or you might have a bad injector if you where smelling gas. Or look for a leak.

well the iac valve i guess was all messed up and was causing all the problems, but i still have gas in the oil. i think its from lack of driving as i dont drive it very offten very far. so it all good now, i might change the iac vavle again to make sure it works and do the oil in a couple months, its only got 2000 miles on the change. thanks for the help guys.
