back to the 05 f350 today i cleared the codes the low boost code did not return but the crank and cam sensor codes did. as far as i know it should not run when either of those sensors is bad, am i correct on this.
i also tried a wiggle test while it was running, nothing happened anywhere around the ficm valve cover area.
This is my personal experience only here so take it as you will.
Take the edge out, the techs at edge told me they have a hard time keeping them from getting wet in the super duties. it will throw all kinds of codes that really aren't there. If you are still blowing smoke and your turbo hasn't been cleaned I bet your turbo is locked up. I was one of those guys that said "that won't happen to me I don't beat my truck" guess what it happened. 150 miles after cleaning the turbo it started chugging and not wanting to go over 2000rpm and it was the solenoid. All FICM's act different when they go out but mine didn't make any smoke and after the truck got to operating temp it ran fine.
thanks john188971 took the edge out and truck runs good. how old was your unit when you sent itback, did it cost anything to get fixed? is the water getting in to the edge box or into the connections.
it was only a couple months old so it didn't cost anything.
However they sent me a reconditioned one.
this happened 2 more times until they sent me a brand new sealed one, then I sold that one. The edge people I dealt with were top notch but 3 strikes in my book and your out! Every time I took it out water would be dripping out of it both sides. I had it mounted to drivers side inner fender well under fender lip by the fire wall. they recommended removing the battery and tray and mounting it under all that.
Glad I could help
