code reader problem

code reader problem
I tried to read the codes on an '02 SD but the reader won't interface with the truck. I tried the reader on an '01, and it worked fine. The '02 is a no start, and all fuses are good, as is the EEC relay.

Before you go that far, make sure the ODB-II port has power. The OBD-II port shares power with the cigarette lighter (not the power point). See if the cigarette lighter works. If it doesn't, the fuse is probably blown.
