I went to read my codes with a buddys scanner and an error came up. Is this because the reader is only for gassers? I tried to use by dads sct tuner as a reader as well and it just goes into a tuning mode, no check engine scan.
Need more info Carl. What scanners are you using? What was the error code? Gasser models will not work on our diesels, in fact, I think some diesel scanners won't work on our diesels.
I tried one of my friend's which was a cheaper walmart one and it said error in linking, and then tonight i went and borrowed advance auto's one (not sure of the brand) and that one said the same thing
I suggest that you find a reader that is known to work on our DIESELS. Your OBD port could be corrupt, you've already stated that the power supply is good...............I'm still leaning towards the code reader.
I tried using a snapon scanner today, while scanning for codes the scanner stuck on the screen "scanning for codes, if this lasts more than 60 seconds refer to appendex b"
