Might Purchase a 94 F350 7.3
#3
Just look it over. Take it on a drive if you can. Thats a great truck. I have a 96 F 250 4x4 7.3 I got it with 184,000 on it. The guy pull a 32 foot 5th wheel trailer all the time so I know mine has been worked! Now I have 271,000 and had it for 6 years now, love it!! I put some money in to her but the truck is worth it.

You are correct. If its an auto and a 94, it's not a PSD unless the previous owner did a trans swap.

I have a 90 E350 7.3 that is great; have a 96/7.3, but only put about 200 miles on it so far; just wondering if there were some glaring defects in this model year?

Thats quite alright! Thats why we ask so many questions! LOL! Those 7.3 IDI's seem to hold up nicely.. Mechanical fuel system and lack of electronics make them a lot easier to problem shoot!

7.3 idi is not the most powerful engine to a fault of sorts. But my dad has one. The only time the it stops on the side of the road is when it is out of fuel. Depending on the price though I personally would search for a PSD. The power difference in bone stock form is incredible. My 97 will run away from 7.3 idi while he is empty and I am tugging a 28 foot camper.

i bought a ROTTED OUT parts truck to do my tranny swap...I was going to register it and drive it this winter. Got it on my lift, not one inch of the truck was solid. Point of my story is that the 7.3 IDI ran AWESOME! I took the motor out and put it on craigslist. Within two days i had three people who wanted it. Ended up getting 900 for it lol. Great motors!
