Blinker/ Hazard lights not working

My brother owns a 1997 Ford Ranger, it has the 4.0L engine. The blinker and the hazards stopped working while he was up at school. The break lights still work it is just the break lights and hazards lights. Any suggestions?

Has he checked fuses?

Also, check the flasher unit to see if it is working properly.

I had same problem. Removed flasher unit( in housing under dash near steering column) cleaned contacts on flasher unit with some fine sandpaper reinstalled flasher and has worked flawlessly ever since. If that doesn't fix it then try a replacement flasher .
