i found mine from a guy in the south, forgot what i paid but i know that it wasn't very much. theres a lot of guys parting out trucks on here, could see if anyone will torch off some good ones for you.
Years ago I robbed a couple off a 2wd F150 in a scrapyard for my 76 F150 4x4... Place was near you, in Columbus, IN (hometown) and I think I paid like $10 apiece. But not before I drove around with just leaf springs for a couple months. Ugghhh.
Wouldn't feel too bad about paying $35 each. These things were a royal pain to get off the donor truck. Not worth the money I saved!
Well I gotta have em...my kids ride in my truck, and I can't have the back end bouncing around like that...35...I can deal with....52...that's a bit much...but like I said, gotta have em!
Have you checked with a Ford dealer?? I bought some for my 87, 86, 89. for $13 each. Yes I know they are different but the shocks could be changed. Not sure about the bolt hole spacing though. I'll check tomorrow. I changed the both in my 79 and 86 and 87, used a grinder in the heads, then a punch to drive the rivets through. Grade 5 bolts will work ok, but, grade 8 would be better.
That's kind of what I thought. I am gonna wire wheel the area and primer and paint it when I do it though...
Yea, I definitely would. My frame has a small hole on the passenger side that I found when I took the old shock mount off. The shock mount was full of rust and salt probably just sat inside of it and rotted it.
