Something I just thought of and wondered if it would work or not- is it possible to reset the computer by removing the EEC power relay instead of unhooking the battery? I can't remember if there's a constant feed to the relay or if its only working when the key is on.
The Keep Alive Memory has a constant 12V feed on pin 1 of the PCM connector. It's not the same power feed from the PCM Relay.
You could remove fuse "I" in the engine compartment fuse box to accomplish this. The fuse letter/number may vary from year to year, early models use Fuse Link "N". It's the same supply fuse that also feeds the PCM relay.
