maybe the truck likes to "whistle while it works"...
Hey wasn't that a line from the Dodge truck commercials 5-10 years ago with that "Steve Forbes" looking guy??? Dodge trying to make a point about special design of the antenna to prevent "whistling"
I have the same wind noise, but only on the passenger side occasionally at hwy speeds. The mirrors in/out make no difference, I will try the tape method.
I have the noise on driver side but not the pass. side. Wasn't sure if wind alone or tire on road as the sound changed when road changed. Mabey some of both.
Did anyone ever find a cure to the high pitched whistle at highway speeds? My truck is 15 months old with 20K miles and this last road trip was the first time it's made the sound. Very annoying for 3-4 hours at 75mph. My only cure so far was to turn the radio up louder.
I was getting a bit of that noise as well. It turns out part of the double door seal was folded over, in my case probably from when I was using roof racks to carry bikes and kayaks. The noise disappeared as soon as I ran my fingers along the seals to put them back into position.

I'm curious if anyone found a way to fix it.
I took my truck to my dealer for this issue as well. I installed Weathertech rain guards and noticed driver side side noise. The only way it stops is to leave the window stock.
May I ask, does your truck have in channel rain guards?

Humm. I have the annoying wind noise on the drivers door. I also have the Weathertech vents. Removing the vents/rain guards made no difference.

The doors / windows are stock (I haven't done anything). It sounds like it's coming from the top of the windshield in the center of the truck. Tough to tell for sure, but my thought was the satellite antenna or the roof marker lights. It's a high pitched whistling sound. I don't think it's coming from either of the front doors / windows, but I'll check the weather stripping to be sure.
I isolated the noise on my truck to the window seal on the driver's door. If I move the window slightly the noise will disappear or at least change intensity levels temporarily. I now find myself readjusting my window constantly whenever I am on the highway.
I removed the seal to inspect it and found 2 potential problems that I have not attempted to address yet. The first problem is that the steel pinch weld that the seal fits onto has an abnormality on it right at the location I feel that the noise is coming from. The pinch protrudes about 1/4" more in this area and I feel that it is causing the seal to stretch when the window is forced up all the way. This will be the first area that I address. The second will be to bend that pinch weld outward slightly to cause tighter contact between the window and the seal.
I previously tried moving the mirrors in and out, messing with the door seal and even taping some areas to isolate the noise, but nothing seemed to work. I accidentally stumbled on the window seal one day. I wasn't even consciously thinking about it but I guess my sub-conscience had enough of the noise and told me to bump the window button.

Good job following the process of elimination. I have that very high pitched whistle as well but it's not consistent or enough of a problem to do anything about yet. Make sure you post up a video or some photos showing what you did to fix the problem.
I took my truck in, I could push or pull on the grab handle and change the tone. Ford dealer sent me to Safelite Glass. They sealed the windshield (outside moulding to glass).
Wasn't impressed with the way it was done, but it got rid of the noise.

Had a similar noise and I used blue painters tape to narrow the problem down to the windshield on the driver's side. The dealer sent me to a glass company and they replaced the windshield/molding assembly, problem resolved.
