Wind Noise

I know I am complaining, but the wind noise around the driver side door is driving me nuts. Everything else on this truck is so quiet that the wind noise when rolling down the highway stands out (I do most of my driving at highway speeds). I have done the door seal mod per Epic's directions and can only tell a small difference in the noise coming from the driver side door.

Any other tricks or recommendations on what else I could try to quiet down the wind noise. In all other respects, the truck is awesome. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Is it a high-pitched whistle sound?

Thanks gents. The sound is hard to describe, its definitely the sound of what I would consider wind noise or a door seal leak based on other cars I have owned over the years. It can be intermittent depending on the crosswinds (I live in PA and it is nearly always windy), but definitely related to airflow over the door. The door mod went well and the doors slam like an armored personnel carrier, just still some wind noise. When the big girl goes in for her first service I may ask if they can adjust the door latches to get some more positive engagement, but I was just looking for some home solutions before I take my baby to my local dealer. Thanks for all the help.

I have the noise as well, and it is also intermittent. I beginning to suspect it is not the door sill. It may be the cowling above the fire wall between the hood and windshield?

After I fixed a broken tab that was supposed to hold this down on my 2004 GMC Sierra 2500 HD and after the factory windshield was replaced with more silicone - no more noise.

I asked about the high-pitched whistle because I notice that too. It has nothing to do with the door seal and is coming from either what Brian described or the mirror housing. It is annoying and I would like to stop it.

I hear the same noise plus occasional high pitched whistle. It is subtle but because the truck is quiet it is easy to hear.
I just turn up the stereo, I am all about denial.

Maybe the guys with the trailerscope mirrors could fold them in at hwy speed for a couple minutes to see if it makes a difference in noise.

Good suggestion. We could also try a little masking tape across the cowling seams and see if that fixes the whistle. It that's it, it's an easy permanent fix. I could add some type of weather strip or tape on the underside of the cowling to change the air flow.

Y'all kill me.

Maybe some experimentation is in order. I will see if folding in the mirrors at highway speed makes any difference and try a little masking - I will let you know what I learn. Thanks

Also try fully extending the mirrors away from the body.

Instead of masking tape, try painter's tape. Less gooey mess when you peel it off.
