Want to put a front mounted receiver hitch on my '02 F250SD with a 7.3L. Question is they are listed as with or without a blocker beam, what is a blocker beam and what does it look like?

Every superduty made in 2001 or later has a blocker beam. It's just a bar behind the front valance bolted to either frame rail. It's purpose it to keep little cars out from under your truck in an accident.
semi ot question...
can i jack up the front of a 2wd truck from the blocker beam?
if not, where can i jack the front up so that both wheels can theoretically hang loose.
actually, i am only trying to get an idea how the truck will sit with a 2" leveling kit, but i want to make sure its safe to jack from there.
also, in the event of an oil change or whatever, its nice to be able to jack from a central point, so where can i jack from.
again, its 2wd so i cant simply jack from the axle

i want to do the same thing with my receiver hitch but it came out short on the other blocker beam. so i can give you a tip on finding a good one instead.
I have mounted mine at the tow hooks. No welding required. You will lose your fog lights if you have them. I don't recall the brand, but it is made by Cequent Towing Products part number N65022.
If you have a front license plate holder, you'll need to lower it by drilling into the bumper and fasten it with screws.
I'm sorry guys this may seem stupid, but I've always wanted to ask. I'm assuming you guys mount them in front because you're in tight places with your trailers??

Yes, that was my primary reason for it. It was nice to be able to attach other accessories to it like a bike rack, etc.
