Bed Steps

On our 2009 F-150 we have the factory retractable bed steps in front of the rear wheel. As I was getting stuff out of my F-350 last night, I realized those would come in handy. Does anybody know if A) The F-150 steps will bolt up to the F-350, or B) If there is something out there that will work?

I haven't investigated this too closely, but TSC (Tractor Supply Company) has a folding bed step that you can mount to the tailgate which comes off the side of the truck. It was ~$38.00.

I'm still young and agile enough to grab the end of the box and use the bumper to step up into the box, but it is a little higher than my 04 GMC 2500HD Duramax. The "young and agile enough" may not last too many more years, but I just can't bear to put in the step and the mini-stripper pole (especially after the Howie Long commercials).

Another option I have seen is a step which slides over the rear tire to allow you to have a temporary step to reach over the side of the bed. It folds flat for storage and costs around $40. Here is a link Hitchmate Tirestep, Truck & Suv, Hitchmate at Sportsman's Guide

Just another option to consider for those of us who are vertically challenged

I have one of these. It actually works great for washing the truck. I just slide it over top of my wheel and I can stand on it to clean the hood and windshield and tonneau. It gets me about 12-16" off the ground

Got mine at Canadian Tire

actually, I'm looking for the same thing. A step in *front* of the rear wheels that will let me access my tool box from the side. It would be nice if it was automatic and could slide under the truck when not in use. I don't want a complete side step, just an extra one for occasional access to the tool box.

5'8" doesn't give me much of a reach.

Thanks for the replies. I don't have any problem getting onto the tailgate and into the bed which is why I opted not to get the stripper pole. It would just be nice if there was something out there that would make it easier to get stuff out of the front of the bed. Here's one that I have found...wonder how durable it would be: Bully Truck Bed Toolbox Step - AS550

I'm young and agile enough to get in and out of the truck without the step as well. And tall enough (6' 6") that I can just step on the rear tire, grab the bed and get in the side of the bed. But man, I have to say, I love the tailgate step and mini stripper pole. When you have a full load of things in the bed and have to constantly get in and out while unloading it really makes it a breeze. I thought it was more of a gimmick until I actually used it. Great option. Oh, and the kids LOVE it too.

home run

After researching the options, I chose these:

Luverne Step Up - Truck Bed Step - Free Shipping

Love them. Very heavy duty, easy to use and OEM quality.

The mini stripper pole and manstep are one of those "why didn't I think of that" inventions. Wish I owned that patent, fo sho.
