10.25 axle diffrences
Speaking of 10.25 axles...
Anybody know of any specific differences in them?
I have a SF (semi float) 10.25, but since I've had the detroit locker in my hands, need a full floater.
My concerns are as follows.
I have the stupid 7 lug wheels. I can either get New wheels and figure how to make the front hubs 8 lug, or keep my wheels (actually preferred so I don't have to spend more money) and make the rear hubs 7 lug.
Disc brakes and parking brake. I seriously doubt that my existing equipment will fit. So I want to get a disc brake with drum parking brake setup. Which years should I look for? Did they even have them on 10.25 or was it just the 10.5 version?
Hub width. How far out does the hub protrude from the center of the wheel. Are there different track widths? Brackets and such I'm not worried about since I can get them rewelded.
So, you ask, why not get a different truck. I like the f150 look, and I go through too many vehicles so I am trying to keep this one, I also like modifying things.
