Cool Starting and drivability problem

I have a 1996 7.3 diesel when its cold it will start and die out unless you keep the rpms way up then it will stumble as if some cylinders aren't firing at times. When it warms up it will quit and run fine until it cools again. This only happens in the winter in the summer when the ambient temp is warm it runs fine. I also get a code for the cam sensor so I put in a new cam sensor in also have put in new injector o-rings and an injector still with no avail. Checked the computer by adding heat to it and the other box on the fender by the computer which I believe controls the injectors still no change. Checked other sensors they seem to be fine. Do you think this is a valve cover gasket issue or what?

sounds like a wiring problem. Cold makes loose connections get really loose. I'd pull them and look at all the pins and sockets real close. Ohm them all out cold too. From the pins on the gasket all the way to the glow plugs and back from the valve cover connectors to the GPR and IDM.

You may need to switch to a lighter weight motor oil ...Or a synthetic...
