Just bought a 2002 F-250 4x4 Off-Road Crew Cab 7.3L and the airbag light is staying on. I have found out after the fact that the truck has been previously involved in a front end collision. The damage was to the passenger side front. I turn the ignition on, the airbag light will come on solid (just like all the rest, with the exception of the 4x4 and 4x4 low) then go out. Then it flashes slowly 2x then 5x, then goes out for a bit then repeats a few times before staying on. This tells me I am getting a code of 25. I have searched with no luck to narrow this issue down. Everything mechanically works, cruise, horn, etc. The only thing I can find wrong is when I engage the 4-wheel drive (floor shifter) the indicator lights do not illuminate in the instrument cluster. Neither the 4x4 nor the 4x4 low. I am unfamiliar with this truck, so I don't know where to began searching. I cant afford to take it to a dealer and I have children in the truck quite often, so I would like to remedy this very quickly. Any guidance to resolve this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank You
B1871 25 14 Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch/Module Fault It could be that the passenger side light bulb is burnt out as well. From what I found if your truck needs the module then it needs to be configured at the dealer.

I was afraid someone was going to say that.... I failed to mention that there isn't a key, switch nor light for the passenger airbag. Hopefuully someone will throw some testing procedures I can try before resulting to the dealer.....

My Navigator Did This. The Cause Was The Connector Had A Lil Humidity Inside ! We Applied Some Sealeant That Ford Uses On All Connections And The Problem Was Fixed. Hopefully That Will Resolve Your Issue!
I had the same code with my 95 mustang. The drivers side airbag had been deployed and not replaced.
As soon as I replaced it and reset the codes (removed the positive cable from the battery for about 30 minutes) the computer reset itself and the code was gone.
Is there a passenger air bag? check to make sure it is there, check the drivers bag. Sounds like one of the bags are bad or the module went bad.
I found the module, drivers and passenger's airbag on Ebay for $50.00.
Here is what I have from my manual for the reason you are getting the light flashing code (LFC) #25.
Pinpoint Test D: LFC 25/DTC B1871 — Passenger Air Bag Deactivation (PAD) Switch Fault
Normal Operation
The restraints control module (RCM) monitors the status of the passenger air bag deactivation (PAD) switch at pin C2041-8, circuit 1112 (W/LB). The PAD switch signals the RCM by switching a resistance to ground. If the RCM senses 900-1100 ohms in the PAD switch, it enables the passenger air bag and turns off the PAD switch warning lamp. If the RCM senses 400-600 ohms in the PAD switch, it deactivates the passenger air bag and turns the PAD switch warning lamp on. If the RCM detects an invalid resistance, it will store a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) B1871 in memory and flash a lamp fault code (LFC)
Possible Causes
A PAD switch fault could be caused by:
*a damaged or inoperative PAD switch.
*a damaged or inoperative RCM module.
*a short to battery, short to ground or open on circuit 1112 (W/LB).

Good luck.
There is a passenger airbag, to whether or not it is the original I am unsure. I can tell that the one that is in there is not deployed.

I live in York South Carolina, just outside of Charlotte North Carolina. Willing to drive a bit to get some help if anyone offers. Thanks for the suggestion megawatt00.

To which connectors are you referring too? I do not know what all is involved with the airbag system. I am assuming some sensors on the front somewhere, on the bags themselves and possibly a controller or two...? I am moderately mechanically inclined so with a bit of guidance I will be able to figure it out.
