2002 Explorer Sport Trac

I was going to change the fuel filter on my Sport Trac and ran into a problelm. The filter has 2 inlets coming from the tank. These have a snap lock on them, and came off easy enough. On the engine side, there was a thin metal clip, which I thought was holding the fuel line to that side of the filter. I took it loose, but now I've tried everything to get the filter out of the line, and it won't budge. Anyone know how to release the connector on that side?? thanks

the lock is just that. inside there are "fingers" that grab the gas tube. You need to stick i circular "gas line tool" into the plastic hose end, around the filter tube. This spreads the fingers and lets you pull the tube out. YOu can get them at Auto Zone for $10.
