3rd door won't open

3rd door won't open
This is on the driver's side. You can hear the mechanism working but it won't open. My husband got the panel off and you can see it working, but it's not working the latch. We've tried pulling on the cable as described here but that has no effect.

All right, DH just came and told me it looks like something metal at the bottom of the door is broke. He's going to try to get the door open to see it better. Hard working with a closed door and through the openings of the door panel.

We got it fixed. It turned out the cable had come off whatever it was supposed to be on. He used a zip tie to secure it in place. Door works great now.
Must have been the angle he was looking from that he thought something was broken.
