I did the head unit first, that made a big difference by itself.

When replacing the headunit, how does it affect factory video / vcr / rear controls? Can most of the stock funtions be maintained?

Fun, fun, fun

Well, I guess I'm about to get started into all of this. For Valentine's Day, my wife gave me a box with four infinity reference 6832 cf's in it

My younger brother is into car stereo, and he had a brand new Rockford Fosgate Punch 10" sub as well as a crossfire amp for it that I took for money he owed me. I also have a PAC S-OEM4 line out converter on my desk. The speakers, sub, amp, and converter are going in over the course of this next week. I picked up the 4 channel line out converter because I figure that I will eventually set in a 4ch channel amp for the front speakers. I'll try to snap a few pics along the way.

Thanks for all the help so far...

Couldn't agree more. I have to run some in the excursion because of the stupid deck I got (only has 2 sets of RCA outputs, front and rear/sub, the second set only outputs one or the other...) and had to run the front off of rca and rears off of the speaker level outputs + line converters... Adjusting the volume each time, climbing over seats to get to the back and get some kind of reference of how loud they are sucked... and those i had to check against the deck volume and amp gain so that it doesn't distort at higher volumes/higher gain and doesn't go quiet at lower volumes/low gain... Basically going without line converters is highly recommended, one because of the additional wires and boxes behind the stereo, and two because of one extra volume you'll have to monkey with...

Sounds like you got a project going there... Should get a 3rd pair of speakers to match the other 2
