You might want to go check it after an hour or so. just look the cord over good and make sure all looks good as far as smoke or hot spots. It should be fine, but having never used it, it would pay to check on it.
Glad you found it, happens alot as Barry said, I bet this week I've helped 5 people find them on their trucks, not on the internet either, just around my area. Good luck, I hope it works for you, if it does, it sounds like you might have to look into the injectors, or get access to a scanner or AE in order to find out the cause.
Ok left the battery charger on trickle all night came out this morning it said bad battery, So I replaced it with a new one this afternoon. had left the heater plugged in all night and day also, changed the oil in it this afternoon tried starting it seemed like it came closer to starting but wouldnt am charging the other battery now so we will see in a little while . Any other ideas while I wait?
Well, most of use change the batteries in pairs. Usually if you have one bad battery, the other is nearly as bad. If one is weak, it will pull down the other and cut the life of it down.
Hold it on your older battery. black lead on the - and red on the +. Be sure meter is set to 20volt DC. Have her crank while you watch the meter. Shouldn't drop below 11volts. 10.5 is the miminum.
Ok did that it dropped to 10.67 at its lowest it almost started my new battery is 1000 cranking amps and the old one is 850 and my charger said the old one was at 97 percent when I started cranking I wonder if I should go get another battery with 1000 amps or not?
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! It started and is still running. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP AND ADVICE AND ENCOURAGEMENT. My dad went and bought a charger with a booster on it and it started right up. I think I will go get another battery and then put this small one back in my wifes truck and take the gel cell out of her truck and put it back in my old 71.
