Is there software out there that would let me monitor all the sensor data? I know there are tons of preprogrammed units that I can get but anyone know of user interface piece of software/hardware that lets me monitor and change settings? Like for my grand prix you can get a "tuner" for 400 bucks and that was by far the best "performance" mod. It lets me look at everything that happens with the engine and you can make adjustments, record data and so on.
The reason I'm asking is that my 89 250 with 351w is getting old and it's just about ready for a rebuild. Was thinking along the lines of a 408 stroker and mild cam, the truck is used mostly to tow a trailer so need as much torque as my wallet can handle. One thing that I don’t know is how well ecu can handle all the extra air.
P.S. New guy here, seems like a good forum with a lot of smart folks
You're not going to be able to get much for an 89 vehicle. That was OBD-I computers and not very sophisticated. If it was OBD-II I would suggest AutoEnginuity software with Ford package, but I don't think it works with OBD-I.

The stock ECU won't handle that at all so what you need to do is upgrade to a mass air setup utilizing a Mustang A9L ECU add a Moates Quarterhorse tuning module and load Binary Editor on your laptop. Then you'll have exactly what you want.. realtime access to all sensor data and the ability to modify any parameter.
