As I was doing my weekly scouring on Craigslist for truck parts, I found a 95 F150 Centurion 4x4 for sale locally.
Apparently it has a burnt valve, and a transmission cooler line that leaks like crazy. I didn't attempt to start it, the price was right, even if I have to put a motor in it.
PO did some work to it, brake lines, leaf springs, hangers and shackles, ball joints, tie rods, etc. He had a stack of receipts to back up his work.
I'll tow it up to the shop in a couple of weeks, and get a better idea of what she needs. The cap, and running boards are the first things to go.
I hope not! I didn't even attempt to start it, with the leaky trans cooler line.
It's only got 135k on it, so if it did drop a valve, I'll most likely pull the motor, check everything else, and repair what's broken. Seems like a good time to throw some GT40 heads on it.
Looks like a nice truck but i dont think its a centurion. At least not from what i know of centurions. They were the extended cabs with bronco back halfs. That just looks like a crew cab 150.
Am i right? or did i miss something? either way thats a clean looking truck.
Ah but Centurion would also modify the 150's to a crew cab since it was only available in 250 and 350 trucks back then. Not everyone need that big a truck so that's where they come in. They did the bronco's as well. The half tons were their speciality.
The term "Centurion" refers to the company that did the conversions. Altho most people know the Bronco 4 door conversion, they also did other conversions, ranging from doing 4 door F150s with no other mods to mention, up to ones with full custom interiors. I remember going past their facility back in the early 90s and they had F-series stacked out the wazoo.
