Exhaust question

Exhaust question
I have a 1992 F250 with the 5.0 and I wanna redo my exhaust. Mainly, I wanna remove my front cat (the rear one was cut off long long ago) because I think it's falling apart on the inside and I see a rust hole starting on the outside. I have the setup where the front cat joins both manifold pipes together the goes out to a 3 inch pipe which went to the second cat which has been removed. I currently have a 3 inch cherry bomb glass pack on it but I originally reduced it to 2 1/4 (because I experienced these motors needing back pressure) and hooked it to the stock tail pipe. It sounded great!!! But now I think the front cat is gonna go and at 195,000 miles i'm sure it's about that time. I was thinking of cutting it off and putting 2 glass packs in its place. I already have 2 new cherry bomb glasspacks that are 2 inch ID that I was gonna use. But when I attempted to measure the pipes (i haven't cut it off yet) the pipes seem to be different sizes. one seemed like a 2 inch and the other was maybe a 2 1/4. I don't have a good caliper measuring type of tool right now but I'm gonna get one.
Now my question is, does anyone know what size they really are, and will i need something custom? and will there be any clearance issues under there? It has only 1 O2 sensor and it's right before the cat in between the pipes.
I would like it louder, I'm sure it would flow better, I am not worried about emissions, and I also ain't buying a expensive exhaust. I can't afford a new cat and Y pipe so I wanted to do this. Some info on the truck -- it's a 1992 F250 5.0, E4OD trans, 2 Wheel drive, standard cab. Any suggestions??
Of and the air pipe that went in rotted years ago and has been hanging there. I'm about to remove the smog pump because I think it's bad and ticking.

Did you need adapters for the pipes? or did you use headers? I was gonna keep the standard Y pipe and manifolds for now

a micrometer is a small handheld gauge that can take measurements of extremely tight tolerances. You can use it to take inner and outer diameter measurements of pipes and other circular openings (cylinders, etc...) It can be used on non-round objects as well, but most of us just use them for round ones.

You can buy universal cats and make your own exhaust. I've heard of people doing dual cats and mufflers and still passing inspection. I've seen dual inlet / dual outlet and dual in / single out. I guess you'll have to check with local laws for getting a legal set up. I'm sure it's different everywhere you go. I know cherry bomb makes their own cats now but you can buy them at summit or jegs. They have them with and without air pipes and extra loud or even quiet ones.
