Why do 6.0s smell different?

Well this is a really random question but to me a 6.0 exhaust smells noticeably different than any other diesel vehicle. It almost has a sweeter scent to it and I'm curious as to why. Anyone else realize this?

cat converter, smell the newer ones and they smell even sweeter. i had straight piped my truck and it started stinking like an old diesel again. put it back on and the sweet smell is back.

I always wondered this too. When they first came out I thought it was due to the egr but I've been around a lot of other egr diesels and they don't have that 6.0 smell.

I kinda like the smell, but I prefer the dirtier smell of my 7.3!

I don't like the smell of ULSD compared to the old LSD.

I used to always love the smell of diesel exhaust, my dad had an old Ford diesel tractor. But anymore it kinda stinks with the way the ULSD is, I dunno.
