Do I need a longer Driveshaft for 6" Lift?
Hey guys,
I've been poking around here a bit, trying to get a definite answer for this issue, but it seems as though there are a lot of discrepancies when it comes to this.
I have a 1993 F150 4WD reg cab short box Flairside. I would like to do a 6" lift on her so I can run 35" tires. I also want to get all the parts required to do this so hopefully I can spend a week in the spring and get it installed quick. This truck is my DD, but once the snow melts, I can rock the Mustang for a while, as long as the weather cooperates.
Will I need longer driveshafts to accommodated the 6" lift? I have been looking at JBG's 6" lift (with front/rear springs, brake lines, extended radius arms). I noticed they sell a kit with rear lift springs that are a 4.5" lift. I would assume this is so it will level out the truck with the new 6" springs in the front. Doesn't seem like the rear driveshaft would be an issue, but would the front?
Is there anyone currently running with this kit that can give me any insight on how they like/dislike it? What extras did you have to get to make it all work?
One last thing. Wheels! for a 35x12.5 tire, im thinking a 15x10 wheel. What kind of backspacing do you guys recommend?
Thanks!
