Need a Block Heater?

I found a deal on some NOS Zero Start block heaters the other day and thought immediately of the good folks here.

I picked up one for myself + 4 spares (that's all the guy had) I figured I can pass on a good deal to people here on the board.

They are Zero Start brand, 1000W, and top quality - made in the USA. Brand new in original pristine packaging with instructions.

Very similar to this one on eBay
GM 6.2 6.5 L Diesel Chevy GMC 1000w Engine Block Heater - eBay (item 110630592075 end time Jan-30-11 14:10:14 PST)
For a lot less money.

$35 each + actual shipping cost to the first 4 people to request one by sending me a PM.

Kinda surprised that no one needs one of these. I know it was the best deal I had seen on one like this. Figured there would be others around here that needed one too.

Hmmn, I guess there's always eBay...

Can our engines run two block heaters, one per side? In other words, will the oil cooler get in the way of installing a heater on the driver-side of the block?

figure 2 hrs per day x 5 days a week = 10 hrs x 4 times a month = 40 hrs @ 1000W with your KWH rate = ??
i'll keep my GP and starting system working like they should thanks.

even if it's a $1/kW (and it ain't) that's $40 a month, creature comforts aside it's still a small price to pay for reduced engine wear if you ask me...

If that works for you that's great. A lot of older trucks in colder climates need a little "help" - even if the GP and starting system are in tip top shape...

I don't know for sure, but I think there is more than one freeze plug on each side, and I would think you could get access to at least one of them on the driver's side to install a second one if you wanted to.

If not you could always put one in the front and rear freeze plugs on the passenger side...

Actually I have the 1.5kW heater in mine so I'm good there, but for folks living in real cold places two 1kW heaters may not be a bad idea. And I was asking if it can go on the driver-side of the engine cause I'm not sure how having two of them on the same side will affect the block - remember how the old 6.9s engines were cracking at the heater, well something like that...

Tom, email me your zip code and I'll get you a shipping quote. I tried to PM you but your account isn't configured to accept PMs...

One sold, one spoken for, only two left...
