95 Ranger XL, 3.0l, manual, 234,000 miles.
I've been getting a P1443 code (low or no flow to evap system, check control valve). I thought the problem was with a tube on the evap cannister that had gotten old and crumbled. Its obsolete so I improvised with fuel line hose. I have gotten the above MIL a couple times since. I don't have much experience with the evap system so if anyone who is knowledgeable in that area could educate me on how it works or what the problem might be that would be great. Specifically, where is the control valve? A couple years ago I had a seal on top of the fuel tank repaired. If the seal has now failed could this be the problem? Thanks in advance.
i have a 94 Splash model with a 2.3l, found my canister, and tracked the hose to the Intake Manifold, and it was just sitting behind it, not attached to anything, where does it attach to?? the vacuum tree with the rest of the hoses or what?
My cannister is on the drivers side and forward in the engine compartment. The tubes run to the flow sensor and then to the intake manifold. I'm wondering if there's not something in the fuel system or gas tank that could produce a loss of pressure or flow through the evap system.
