There you go! That takes away one big worry.

Maybe that one time slip was something that got on the flywheel like dirt or crap, or oil leaking from somewhere and made the clutch slip.

The radius arm brackets or bushings could be gone too. Check all of your tie rods and steering links for looseness. Don't forget to check the steering box to frame mounts and rusted spring towers too.
