OK freaky....I'll Argue with Ya.....Your mother wears combat boots and your sister hasn't had a bath in 3 weeks. Now that i've insulted you...Lets See...(1) The principal runup in oil prices is "Fear of the Unknown"...for the Most part. (2)There are LOTS and LOTS of very smart and well educated people OUTSIDE the Bush adm. that understand how the Game is played....i.e....why do you think that they are NOT giving any kind of estimate as too the Cost of the war?? Answer...Because then all those Jackass economists could quickly calculate the TOTAL deficit and Bush does not want the Dems using that as an Excuse for NOT Launching the WAR . (3) The strategic petroleum reserve WILL NOT sustain us for more than a couple of months ...even if we are receiving some oil from who knows where.....we just consume too much oil..period...(4) The reason that we shouldn't remain dependent on foreign oil is because we are shipping our wealth to other countries, which is the same reason that when we run a trade deficit we ...are ...again shipping lots of Dollars away from our ecoonomy. i don't think anybody is going to "HATE" you for your thoughts......I think the term that is more appropriate than Hate might be ..Dislike. Intelligent , Adult , discussion of issues ALWAYS requires those who Participate to present their idea's in a plausable , non-hateful manner. By definition , a friendly argument requires that both participants should have Different points of view.....uddervise(my german accent schilpps out vonce in a vile) you have immediate agreement , nothing to debate and everybody heads for the local tavern to gawke at the Large ***** of the bar maid.........fd
I'm not saying reserves as in already refined oil, I'm saying as in capped off wells in Alaska and throughout the midwest and Pennsylvania. Ask some of the oil guys on this site how many wells they've seen drilled and then just capped off.
I understand that an uneasy economy can run up oil prices but do you honestly believe that cutting off our ties with Saudi Arabia would make things cheaper? I believe before we cut off our foreign ties with oil, we should cut off our foreign ties with manufacturing. This is the industry that would make our country self-reliant by creating jobs and allowing people to afford the more expensive cost of domestic oil when and if that time was to come.
given the price of oil i don't think there are any capped off wells....Thats's just so much BS or a statement by some person of Lesser mental ability. There are only about 3 reasons for us having anything to do with the Racial Slur Removed by Admin.
(1) their oil...
(2)strategic placement of material and stageing area's for troop deployment for for the military.....
(3) the necessary maintenance of diplomatic relations to maintain intelligence gathering and to keep our military and state dept. informed as much as possible about the terrorists and their movements.......fd
Fatdaddy I agree with you about all of those things except saying that my beliefs come from someone of lesser mental ability. I think the reason we use their oil is simply an effort to maintain a "global economy" + the other things you said.

Mr. Ditto Head has Done neither and my Guess is....is that IF you PUT Him in the same conditions he wouldn't have the gonads to stay the course because all he knows how too do is Run his Mouth!!!!!fd
I was disappointed in John McCain and I wouldn't believe he could serve in a POW camp and then sell us down the river unless he crossed over to the dark side. I never listen to Rush or AM radio, ever. If John had another message, he should have brought it to me and the public. We wanted to hear about his part in the S&L directly from him, I wasn't ready to talk future until we settled the past.
I wrote Edward Kennedy off too because I thought he was wrong on other issues. I wouldn't vote for McCain or Kennedy as dogcatcher because they know better, is/was better and could have united this country like no one has since JFK. Other politicians I expect it from. Both of them did it to themselves and you have no right assuming Rush runs my life.
If you overlook major character flaws that are brought to your attention before the election you asked for another Bill Clinton. The Good Lord knows we were warned about him.
In 'Nam, but after that it's all down hill. He might as well become a Conservative Democrap than stay in the Republican party! He sides with the liberals on 90% of their agendas. He is all for stricter gun control..I.E. registration...(which always leads to confiscation down the road). When McCain retires I will rejoice!
Truckfreak , I wasn't referring too you personally......i respect your point of view. My reference was too any person who would leave a producing well capped when he\they could be selling their oil for 35 a barrel.......later , fd
It doesn't make terribly good sense to me either but neither does the fact that our government allows American companies to pick up shop and move out of the country for cheaper labor. When the Romans started Democracy they said that a business owner shouldn't make more than 5x's what his lowest paid worker makes, then our government said, well 20x's is reasonable, but there are some out there making 1000x's +/- what their lowest paid worker makes!!!! That outrages me, there's no use for that kind of greed, and when you consider what they're paying them over sea's it's probably about 100,000x's difference.
