side molding???
side molding???
I have looked and looked for the type of side molding I need for my 80 F250 with no luck. LMC doesn't have it. I need the plain aluminum side molding not, the black rubber insert type. I really only need one piece behind the rear passenger wheel. It is a little boogered up. Unless someone can point me in the right direction, I might have to visit a lot of junk yards. Any ideas?
Your truck is suppose to have the black vinal on the molding, someone pealed it off, that is why its not there.
Nice truck. Is that spruce green?

I have seen several trucks that don't have the rubber insert. Look at the galleries on this website. Are you sure about that? It is not spruce green. It is the stock color and I believe they called it Metallic forest green. Original paint. I'm almost positive no one removed any rubber insert. I bought it years ago from an old man and it was bone stock.
No I am wondering if that molding you pointed me too is a match. Tough to tell from the pics. I wonder how they refer to left hand or right hand? My bad piece is on passenger side

Not to hijack the thread, but is there a source for the trim piece that curves over the front fenders (not the piece on the fender lip). You can see the broken piece I'm looking for in my picture garage on my '83 F-250.
Astro... check out the National Parts Depot link above. They have your piece. Thanks Diesel Brad. I pulled out my 1980 Ford dealer brochure and they did offer the side molding without rubber insert in 1980. Several trucks in the brochure show it. They called it "brushed aluminum lower bodyside molding". "Elegant new style and trim". The paint color is also listed as "Dark Pine Metallic"
Brad, the aluminum(Chrome)/vinyl molding in 1980-1981 was standard on Ranger Lariat, but optional on all trim levels, even Custom. The plain aluminum was standard on Ranger XLT, and optional on all tu tone trucks.
Skoiv, I swapped from the plain aluminum moldings to the aluminum/vinyl moldings, and I still have my entire set of the plain aluminum moldings. Let me know if you're interested.

Fordzilla... That would be really cool. Mine are in superb condition so if yours are too, it would be a good match. I only need one piece which is the furthest back behind the passenger side rear wheel. Are these things easy to get off and re-install? Are they clipped on? You probably know. How about a picture? I will send you a PM and we can talk over email. Thanks.
